Spilve Airport
The building’s total area is more than 3,300 m². The model was created at the LOD3 level of detail, incorporating renderings of the building’s decorative elements and other fine details, which make the overall model both visually rich and technically accurate. Although the building has an impressive history, it is also visibly worn down. During the work, it was clearly visible that the central part had sunk by about half a meter, which made the modeling more challenging. When creating the model, it is essential to choose a strategy for its construction so that it is clear from the outset how to handle the geometrically displaced elements. To ensure the model can be used in the future for building planning and potential reconstruction, the attic structure—which includes beams, rafters, joists, and other structural elements— was also modeled, creating a complete digital twin of the building.
